Vintassion Uncovered - #27, 25/04/14

Hi Vintage Lovers,

Well wasn't the weather lovely over the Easter Holidays for a change, hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable time and managed to visit a Vintage Fair or two.  We certainly enjoyed setting up our Vintybits Stall at Vanity Fairs' Vintage, Antiques, & Collectors' Fair near Gloucester on Sunday - see the photos later.

This coming weekend we are very excited to be stepping back in time to revel in the glamour and allure of the magical golden era at the Festival of Vintage celebrating the sights and the sounds of the 1930’s through to the 1960’s, which has a full festival of activity featuring Live Music, Dancing and Fashion...

This will be the 4th Festival of Vintage and it's the UK's largest indoor Vintage Festival!  We're very grateful for the kind invite from the festival organiser Keeley Harris (founder of Discover Vintage) to help judge the "Best in Show" from over 120 traders showcasing a wide selection of vintage Fashion, Ceramics, Textiles, Music, Toys, Furniture and much more.  The best 3 traders at the Show will be offered the opportunity to open their own Online Vintage Fair Stall to further help sell their lovely vintage wares online and to promote all their Upcoming Vintage Fairs.

Dawn is looking forward to setting up her fabulous Stall at several Upcoming Vintage Fairs around North Yorkshire, including this weekend's Festival of Vintage...

We invited Dawn to offer some feedback aboutt running her Online Vintage Fair Stall for some 8 months, alongside trading at Vintage Fairs:

'Vintassion is a great way for me to offer 24/7 shopping facilities not just in the UK, but also world-wide on the web.  Many of my Vintage Fair customers take my business cards and flyers which contain my Vintassion web details so that they can be reminded where they can get true vintage gloves and nightdresses etc all year around ... my Vintassion stall is now an integral part of my business ... and a great way to keep in touch with other sellers and stallholders up and down the country - it is a great service run by friendly people who understand the vintage business.'

Thank you Dawn for your very supportive words, its great to hear from a Vintassion Seller that we're helping to better join up selling at Fairs and Online.  If you too would like to set up a Vintage Online Stall with NO listing fees and NO commission fees on sales, with web links advertising any UK Vintage Fairs you setup Stall, then check out our special 30 day FREE trial offer and chance to win a 5 star Cottage break in the beautiful Cotswolds.

Daily favourites

Take a look at one of our selected daily favourite lots in April by Vintassion Seller Vintage Country Trading  -  who have named their gorgeous 'updated' Ercol Oak Dresser 'Imogen'. A very heavy solid piece of oak furniture that will last a lifetime. To update this classic piece it's been lovingly painted in Autentico chalk paint 'Castle Grey'. Then heavily distressed both the base and the plate rack, and finished with two coats of clear wax to seal and protect. 'Imogen' would be a fine addition to a vintage country style kitchen. On sale for £395 only...

Last Easter Sunday Vanity Fairs held their first fair of 2014 at Churchdown Community Centre, near Gloucester ...

Here's the organisers Geoff and Margaret Craven, with daughter in foreground and granddaughter far right, who as well as organising the Fair enjoyed selling from their lovely stall...

Margaret is a member of the British Compact Collectors' Society and Geoff, a retired Chartered Mechanical Engineer, specialises in re-lacquering and re-silvering vintage powder compacts and restoring, repairing and replacing mirrors, catches and hinges.  So if you need help with restoration of a compact visit Geoff's website - www.thecompactclinic.co.uk

Kay (below left) is a regular at Vanity Fairs' events and as you can see takes great pride in showcasing retro kitchenalia and Scandinavian kitsch - you can find Kay at the Fab and Faded Gloucester's antiques centre and flea market.

Julie and Ann (above right) only buy and sell affordable vintage jewellery they love, and as they have been trading at Fairs for some 10 years now customers most definitely love their jewellery too...  If you are after something in particular then email - juliep453@gmail.com
