Uncovered - Curly Magpie 16/03/2015

We are very pleased to post this lovely Guest Blog by the Curly Magpie team whose mission is to bring a regular vintage fair to the area that includes the towns of Swadlincote, Burton upon Trent and Ashby de la Zouch, all located within the East Midland’s National Forest... Please post comments at the end to share your views about this lovely guest blog!

‘The autumnal sun shone through the trees as we drove up the beautiful driveway to the Riding School situated in the grounds of the stunning National Trust property of Calke Abbey.  The sheep grazed as we passed them in the spectacular ancient parkland. What an inspiring drive to work as the Curly Magpie team arrived at the venue for their Vintage & Handmade Fair.’

Vintage & Handmade Fair - Calke Abbey October 2014

This was our blog written last October after our event at Calke Abbey in the East Midlands and was probably one of our proudest Curly Magpie moments to date. Click here to read full blog. - www.curlymagpie.co.uk/news/calke-abbey

Curly Magpie was established in 2012 and is run by Leanne who owns Magpie Mace Vintage and organises our vintage and handmade craft fairs with her very good friend Clare from Rosehip Vintage Event Styling and Sarah who looks after the branding, advertising and website updates.

We became a 'vintage trio' with a mission to bring a regular vintage fair to the area that includes the towns of Swadlincote, Burton upon Trent and Ashby de la Zouch, all located within the East Midland’s National Forest.

As well as our own events, we are regularly approached by organisations and museums to help organise vintage & handmade fairs & markets within their buildings, or as part of their larger events. We aim to bring a whole vintage experience to our customers, which includes entertainment, transport and fashion shows of the era. We are passionate about the shop local ethos, bringing the local community together and promoting everything local to support the local economy.

We are so excited about our 2015 events, which kick off next Sunday with another event at the National Trust’s Calke Abbey. We are also involved with vintage events and festivals at the National Memorial Arboretum near Alrewas and the National Brewery Centre in Burton upon Trent.

Please see our list of current events or if you are interested in getting involved, see our website for details:  www.curlymagpie.co.uk
